Dr. Radhika Bavle

Dr. Radhika M Bavle is an excellent academician and Oral pathologist with a rich experience spanning over 2 decades. She is currently the Head of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology in a prestigious Dental College and Hospital in Bangalore; which has been recognized as a Department of Excellence by the RGUHS.

She completed her post-graduation (MDS Oral Pathology) from Govt Dental College, Nagpur and is an undergraduate from Govt Dental College, Aurangabad.

She has since held academic positions of varying capacities, some of which are listed below:

• Honorary Editor for JOMFP (Pubmed indexed journal of the National association of Oral Pathologists-IAOMP) - 2013-2014.
• Honorary Editor for JOMFP (Pubmed indexed journal of the National association of Oral Pathologists-IAOMP) - 2015-2016.
• Chairperson for “INROAD- for data collection on Oral Diseases” launched by the IAOMP 2019
• Executive Committee member for IAOMP- 2010, 2011, 2012
• PG & PhD Guide for Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore
• Head of the Department for affiliated Research Center to carry out PhD dissertations and work under Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore

• Recipient of “VGST, K-FIST level – II” grant from the state government of  Karnataka
• Recipient of grant from “Rajiv Gandhi University Health Sciences”, 2015
• Recipient of “The Fellowship” by the Fellowship of association of IAOMP at 23^rd IAOMP Conference held on November 2014 at Bangalore.

• She is registered under the Dentists Act, 1948, with Karnataka State Dental Council as a registered dentist and MDS Oral Pathology. 
• She is also a life member of Indian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologists (IAOMP), member of the Indian Dental Association (IDA) and also International Association of Oral Pathology (IAOP)

• She is a contributor to the Orban’s Textbook of Oral Histology and Embryology and has penned several chapters which include Salivary glands, Lymph nodes, Cementum and Periodontal ligament from the 12^th to the 15^th Edition.
• She has more than 100 Publications in both National and International peer-reviewed journals.

• Completed Project Work in Original Research in Department and as Collaborative work: 42 topics.
• She has also delivered several Keynote lectures and made Paper Presentations at CDE programs, PG Conventions & National Conferences:

Won best paper award for Paper presentation on “Expression of PD-1 and PDL-1 in oral squamous cell carcinoma and leukoplakia cases- an IHC based study” at 28^th National Conference of IAOMP held from 1^st-3^rd November 2019 at Kovalam, Thiruvananathapurum, Kerala

Apart from this, she is has always been a dedicated clinician and a practicing Oral pathologist for more than 25 years.

She strongly believes that the contributions of the clinician, surgeon and pathologist are paramount to arrive at the right diagnosis.
